long story short
got hit on my 85' bmw k100rs and after I caught the persons insurance company (state farm) in the act of doing what one bmw dealer told me was ethicly shady at the least, I ended up getting a nice check and started looking for a different sport tourer (older k bikes flat in middle rpm) so I eventually wound up here and with TRAT help ended up looking for 2000-2001 sprint st little under 2 months ago
found one and with all I learned here I knew all the questions to ask and ended up getting a nice price
needed big 12k and thanks to you guys I knew what it cost ect..
my uncle hooked me up with a local triumph rider who was cooler then cool ect... he hooked me up with a local certified off the beaten path triumph shop and thanks to you I knew the questions to ask them
they hooked me up (see my post -last page- in triumph repair costs forum)
last but not least I needed one side triumph "sprint st" decal to repair a tipover from previous owner so I put up a message on the forum and a couple of days later a RAT member sent me a message from great britain saying give me your address and i'll send it out, I did so and I said I'd like to pay you something so he said he thought postage would be about $10 USD I said no problem and paypaled it away
next day he said it only cost him about $2.50 USD and that I could cancel the pappal payment
nonetheless I said no way keep the change and THANK YOU!

To all here thanks so much and have a happy new year!

p.s. just got bike from shop today, first ride 55 degrees sunny here in WV (west virginia) and all I can say is i'm sold
WAAAHOOOUUU!!! love it
couldn't have done it without you

good to hear it all worked out for you.

We've got a good group here who are more than willing to share good advice - and a bit of humour - if required - as well

stwanted,
what a great story.

This certainly is a great site, we have a lot to thank Shawn the webmaster and the moderators about, for making it all possible.

Add to that as Grant says, some helpful friendly types and you have a wealth of knowledge.

Some of us are even funny!

Good on you stwanted, you have just begun a love affair with a Sprint.

I have had mine almost two years and I just love riding the thing!

Good to hear your positive vibes, stwanted! I agree entirely with your comments, and as I said in another recent post, this forum definitely has a friendlier, more tolerant tone than others I've looked at. Enjoy the bike. I love my RS too, and al;though I lust after others, I'd be reluctant to part with it, so I'm trying to persuade Shewhomustbeobeyed that I need more than one bike!

I know the feeling. I cannot afford the extra bike I want - America, any year will do, but I would want to part with the RS :-D

Guys
have a 05 Sprint and a T595 Daytona and I am about to add a Rocket to the shed collection. For me you can't have enough Trumpys. Happy riding all and be safe. Stwanted enjoy your Sprint and welcome to one of the best and most helpful sites around.
