HI,
My wheels are the black coated ones on a '00 ST. I'd like to have them stripped recoated or shot basted and lacquered. Can anyone tell me if they've had this done? Where in the UK? How mauch did you pay? I don't want to spend a whole lot getting this done but it'll really make the bike look better.

in the states there are many companies that do powder coating if that's what you want. laquer will chip pretty fast so that is what i'd do. j

I prefer the silver wheels to my black wheels also. I have considered trying to find some used wheels off a salvage bike. But I have not even started looking for them, just a thought.

Just a quick note on powdercoating, if you go that route, be sure to have a company that has done wheels before do it and get references from previous customers.
Powdercoating can distort wheels causing out of balance and bearing fit problems due to overheating if done wrong.

How about just doing it yourself?
It'd only cost a few hours of time and a 100 bucks in materials. I went the additional step and hand polished mine, but that's more work...
