Anybody have any suggestions on RS center stands vs. a pit stand? I have slopped up my driveway with oil residue for the last time. Is it worth the $200 for the center stand (seems pricey) or is a pit stand or roller stand the way to go.

Also, anybody put a top box on their RS? It also seems outrageously expensive, but it looks damn convenient.

Thanks for any input.

I thought the center stand was pricey too... but at least it is always with you...

I have the topbox and hard side bags on my RS... check the pics in my album if interested...

come to think of it, I believe the bike is on the centerstand for the pics...

Centerstand and 18T front sprocket were my first two mods on my RS. I'd much rather have a centerstand that's always on the bike (trips, roadside repairs, etc) than a paddock stand in the garage.

I went with the Ventura Aero-Rack/Pack system. About $300 total (including pack) which is a whole lot less coin than the Triumph luggage rack and a top box.

You donīt have to make roadside repairs on a modern Triumph. So, my suggeststion for you is to save your money and buy a tankbag or saddlebags instead of a centerstand.
Donīt put that box on! It will ruin the good looks.
I had a Sprint Sport before and I use the same pit stand on my RS for cleaning and chain/wheel maintainance.

I'm still not sure about the look of the top box. In the pictures I have seen (thanks Don) it looks OK. Still a hefty price tag on that particular item.

Called around looking for a pit stand and I am leaning towards a center stand based on price. I know if I need to fix something road side or if I drop the bike because the side stand sank, I will be pretty irritated for not having spent the extra dollars on the Triumph center stand.

Hey I'm the first to admit that the topbox is not the most attractive feature of my RS... neither are the sidebags.... but for functionality, security, ease of maintenance, and quantity of storage room... it is by far the best thing I could have done for my commute (I have lots of stuff I need to carry)... and to remove it all takes minutes... and the mounting hardware is very minimal... then I have my RS with only the luggage rack to spoil the good looks...

It's not for everyone, that's why I put the pics out there, so you can see what it looks like... I happen to like it a lot... :-D

I bought my centrestand 2nd hand from a wrecker for a third of the new price.

Shouldn't be too hard to find a wrecker with one.

In Australia there is a website for wreckers called findapart.com.au. I put a post on it for the centrestand and got replies from a couple of wreckers, and they posted it to me and it took about 10 mins to fit.

Should be something similar in the States.

Just make sure you get all the parts. 2 sleeves, 2 bolts, stand and spring.
