Thanks for the heads-up Wills. I just called my dealer and he'll be ordering my replacement parts ASAP.
Thanks again.

bad timing - I had my Sprint in for a service 3 weeks ago.

He had heard of no problems with the bolt but I got him to pull it out and check and relubricate anyway.Apparently it was fine.

Anyway - that'll be another 5 hour round trip to get it done sometime soon :-D

I emailed the service manager about it and he said he just found out about it. He looked into it and my bike needs the update.
He's got it on order.

thanks for the heads up guys.

Hey MNSprintST,

Would you post a picture showing hydraulic hose routing should your dealer get the D675 master on your bike?

I have a 675 M/C in my closet and think it might be more useful on the bike. There are some minor issues to work out such as:

The hydraulic hose exits straight into the handlebar casting. Probably could be fixed with a spacer or some grinding.

The throttle cables need to rotate forward to clear the bleeder nipple. No problem unless you have heated grips. The grip wires will hit the end of their recess if the throttle assy is rotated that far forward. There may be enough cable adjustment down at the throttle body end to rotate the grip back with respect to the throttle cable casting.

I am most interested in what it takes to get the thing plumbed. It isn't straight bolt on.
You might ask them to start looking at it to avoid delivery delays.

Good stuff Tankman, I'll need to ring my dealer on Monday/Tues and see when they can fit mine in.. I have the replaced bolt and racers/bearings etc from when broke the first time, but I don't have the uprated parts. Nearly 10000K since it's been fixed so getting the permanent fix soon would be nice, but probably going to be after Xmas now I'd guess. I have another couple of 000K ride in January so it will probably go in then with the next service.

Have a good one!
Russ

Job Done!

Got the Triumph recall notice this morning at 10:30am. Called dealer and job done by Noon. My cup of tea hadn't even cooled. I'm impressed with Triumph's response on this one. Link bolt looks much better.

I feel your pain iceman.....mine was in for a service earlier this week.

I saw my dealer in Canberra yesterday (Saturday) and he hadn't heard anything, but promised to look into it on Monday morning for me.

cheers,
Simon.

Well... I don't know how you fellow Aussies are getting this recall done before the recall letter gets sent out to you. There is nothing on the Aussie Triumph site about it and my local dealer is playing dumb. Won't do anything without *the letter*. He started giving me the bs about different bikes for different counties and that the recall probably won't happen here (!!!). Where do they get these guys from? I can just see Triumph making a special bike for 'Aus only' NOT! Come on Triumph! Let your guys know what's going on so I can get this fixed and move on...

Hi Mick, just sent an email off to Triumph tonight, I was on the same as Rus coming back from Port, when he had the trouble with the suspension.

Any way I made it home in one piece, the next day checked my suspension the bolt on rocker arm was bolt bent, needle bearing shot and one inner race or sleeve shattered.

Was supplied with a new rocker arm and bearing etc by Triumph.

Put the suspension back together using a grade 12 high tensile bolt, guess what it was starting to bent.

Know a bike wrecker who has an 05 Sprint, been thinking of getting the rocker arm and putting in a large bearing, plus bigger bolt and putting in a grease nipple.

Can't comment.
Got a personal call from Triumph Australia (not happy) after I posted a copy of the recall from the UK website.
If I was free to talk I might suggest that they were caught with their pants down and a tad embarrassed about telling us that no problem existed.
However I have promised Triumph (Australia) that no harm was intended, and I am not so cynical as to take their advice to me the wrong way.
So The fact that everyone else, including Tassie has been informed of the recall is probably a problem with Australia post. Also the reason that Triumph agents are denying a problem is due to the extreme heat that we are encountering.
PS. Any chance of changing my member name, this one has become a bit to obvious.
