Well after all the talk regarding the heat kit install under warranty, I armed myself with printouts of a number of listings and part numbers and testimonials from all and went to my dealer. He called Peter the USA customer rep and got the kit ordered. It took about 2 weeks. I will be getting it installed under warranty this coming week. My question is this. Since I ride rain or shine (and lately it's been mostly rain), I suppose these spongy parts will soak up all the rain. Anyone know if this is harmful in anyway? Either to the bike or the parts themselves? It's probably trivial but I just happened to be thinking about it. There's a blue '06 at the dealer that already has the heat kit and from feeling up into it, it's definitely some kind of spongy stuff.

fear not! - it will be a closed cell foam that shouldnt suck up the water.

I dont have the kit on my bike - but have seen one.

It's spongy but seems to be non-porous to water so I wouldn't worry too much. I've ridden rain and hail and it's not caused a problem.

Ah I see you bought the fast one then :-) Good on ya!
