As this riding season comes to a close i find myself appreciating the Great Rides and more so the Absolute Fantastic ST i have been mounted to.it seems i have read more negative then positive feedback lately and i feel compelled to Share my side....Bought the 06 sprint back in march/06. From day 1 this bike has been a blast to ride both comfort, reliability, and performance! I put 7000 miles on her.Made it to some Incredible riding spots like Snowshoe mountain west Virginia, upper Michigan and any twisties i could find in Ontario. The Brakes have been a non issue, the Heat bothered me twice on hot summer days (also kept me warm last week) The power seems to keep improving and tends to pull the front wheel up under hard acceleration. This thing is awesome and i cant wait to load it in the back of my truck and get out of the snow in January! Hope i just didn't curse myself! :-D thanks for listening! RCR

I'm a little tired of the negative feedback as well so I thought I post my observations and experience.

Bought the '06 ABS model in April and have 6,900 miles on it. It is an absolute hoot to ride with no problems - brakes, heat or otherwise. Longest single day was Pittsburgh to Atlanta. Body was hot - hot? in June? Go figure! - wrists were a little tired and my butt was a little sore but in no way do I consider that to be a fault of the bike. That's what happens when you do 700 mile days!

Most of the miles were in the twisties of West Virginia where the ABS saved my bacon more than once. Twisties are where you develop your relationship with the bike. I know when the front end is ready to come up, when the back is about to slide and just how much I love this machine.

I am in the planning stages of fulfilling a lifelong goal: Round trip to Alaska on a motorcycle. Like HeyMan, I got no time to lose. I think the Sprint is good to go!

..... ditto here RCR001 - its the most complete bike I've been on and after just over a year together we seem to get on better than ever.

I did a mid winter ride around the North Island this year and am planning a trip to a Rat Raid in the South Island next year - about 4 days ride each way and I cant wait :-D

Its getting a service on Friday - I have to ride approx 2 1/2 hours each way to the dealer. Its getting a new screen under warranty and I'll get them to pull out the lower draglink bolt and check it but no 'issues' for me.

My wife asked the other day if I was interested in the 07 model - I'm sure its a small improvement on mine but I'm very happy with what I've got thanks.

I just got a set of Gerbing's jacket liner and glove liners, and I'm very happy to be able to stay on the bike all winter comfortably. Even in this weekend's ride (read about it in Ride Reports) I was very happy with the bike. It always performs.

I love the sprint and all the posts about problems do get to ya
When you do have a problem though this is a great place to get some advice, you just have to realize the problems are in the minority, Not a true indication of the majority of us who dont have any dramas
I am of down the great ocean road next week, plan to do 3000 odd klms, cant wait :-D :-D

I also love my Sprint. Bought it in July '05 and rode it to Colorado and back (1000 miles each way) a month later. I've loved every minute of the 11,000+ miles I've put on it. Now I just need to move somewhere were it stays a little bit warmer all year so I can ride more.

This is a very confusing statement to me. I didn't realize there was a riding season. I guess that is just one of the benefits of living in the southern U.S.

I love my 06 Sprint. I have had it since July and have 5600 miles on it. Rode it to work today. Then had to take it to the dealer to replace the wind screen under warranty. Took about 15 minutes. They replaced the screen with the new 07 model that has a slight hump in it as opposed to the flatter 06 model. It makes a big difference as far as air flow is concerned. This was the only problem I have had with the bike and it was taken care of very quickly. Thanks to this site I knew it was a warranty issue. Since this was at no cost to me it just gave me an excuse to ride at lunch and the only thing I like better than riding my Sprint is riding it when I should be at work.

Of course one other benefit of my Sprint is, it is the faster blue one.
