Wondering if all of you that have recently bought (or already had) Corbin seats could answer this. I just got the seat yesterday and was taking a look at it last night. It went on pretty easy (I don't have the rear rack installed) with a bit of pressure on the back of it. Problem is that it doesn't seem to be exactly straight. Have any of you noticed anything similar?

At the tank, there's about a 1/4" gap on the left side and nearly none on the right. Looking at the seat from behind the bike, it appears to be off to the right slightly. I've got a message in to Corbin, but I was just wondering if any of you had moved brackets, or had to do anything else to align it left/right? I think the rear pin needs to be moved about 3/8".

I out mine on Tuesday and noticed the samething. I am sending mine back to be re-worked as it is too high and too wide. I also told them that it sat crooked. They said they would take a lookat it.

Mine is slightly off as well. I loosened the seat latch the post goes into, fitted the seat, and then retightened it. There's still a small gap where the seat hits the left side of the tank.

I've put about 250 miles on the seat so far and I think there's something to this "firm foam" thing. Seems pretty hard at first, but then I realized my butt wasn't sore after three hours in the saddle last night.

I also noticed the seat is taller than the original, which gives me a bit more leg room. Between the taller seat and the more rearward seating position (I used to be up on the tank), it's taking time to get used to the new riding position. I figure it'll seem normal by the time I get 1000 miles on it.

I immediately noticed the extra width when stopped with my feet down. Kinda catches me inside the thighs. Once feet are up on the pegs, it's OK.

The smooth leather is VERY slippery with my Joe Rocket Ballistic pants. Seems fine with jeans, but I was sliding all over the thing last night with the JR pants on. Makes me wish I had ordered a perfed/textured leather instead.

I figure I'll put 1000 miles on it and decide if I need anything reworked at that point. On a plus note, Corbin quoted me 3-4 weeks in mid-July and it showed up two weeks and a day later.

FWIW, I'm not totally delighted with my Sargent, either. I got the non-customized version, and the seat "bucket" is an inch or two farther back than I'd like it. Im other words, the reach to the bar is too far. I'm 6'1" with long arms and legs, so I have to believe I'm not the only one with this complaint.

My rear pin seemed to be off (too far back) about a 1/4". It didn't latch at all. I hit the pin where it attaches to the pan a couple of times with a hammer and screwdriver and it finally latched. Now that it been on for about a month it latches on and off fine.

The Corbin feels as if it's lower than the stock seat. That may be because it is flatter and doesn't push me toward the tank. It is wider underneath the thighs, which now put me on my tippy toes.

I don't sit all the way back in the "bucket" when riding around town. I do though on the highway. This gives me lots of room to move around which makes the seat very comfortable.

In the corners it's easier to hang-off a bit on the Corbin.

I really like the seat.

Garry - how big would you say the gap is? I'm interested if I've got about the same. I tried moving the latch mechanism and got it to move a little bit to the left (as viewed from behind the bike), but only 1-2mm before I ran out of play. I need more for sure.

Scott619 - I'm interested in what Corbin tells you. I spoke with someone in their Cust. Serv. group and he told me to "put some miles on it" and it would break-in. Not sure I want to do that and jeopardize any warranty work. I could see the front of the seat possibly bending down a little over time, but the whole seat will remain slightly skewed in my opinion.

ikonoklass - I'm also further away from the bars now in normal sitting - although I can just scoot up to the tank. At 6'4" with a 6'5" spread I'm kind of surprised by the reach quite honestly. I see why some really like the risers, helibars, etc.

You guys think I could just back the bracket out of the pan and pound it back in right?!? Or file the pin down some? Either way - kind of pisses me off - for $200 I shouldn't need to do anything.

I've had mine for almost two years. I won't say it's the best seat ever, but it's better than stock, especially for the passenger. Mine is straight on the bike, and always has been. It was a very tight fit the first few times I put it on, but it's gotten as easy as the stock seat. I wish the bucket was more forward. I sit up front around town and alternate between up front and back on a long ride. I've found I sit back and with my feet on the passenger pegs a lot on long straights. I'm 5'11".
I paid over $500 for mine with that backrest.

Here's a pic of how my Corbin is fitting on my RS. Not perfect, but not terrible. Should be better though...

It's not the rear post causing the problem, it's the front tongue in groove thing. I'd move the tongue that fits into the rear of the tank over.
No I wouldn't. I'd send this picture and the seat back to Corbin.
