I'm looking at getting a throttlemeister for my RS.

Are there any opinions on standard versus polished finish, and normal versus heavy?

As it is expensive enough as a standard unit (especially in Australian dollars), I don't want to waste the extra money if there is no real benefit.

I have been very happy with the standard finish, looks very nice. I do not think it is worth spending any extra on the heavy. Vibration does not seem to be much of an issue on my Sprint ST.
Best of luck!

I also have the normal weight & standard finish Throttlemeister....The handlebars don't feel any different than stock... I also have the BarEnder helmet lock on the other side and again, no problems with vibration...

I have the Throttlemeister and Throttle Rocker on my st and find the Rocker more usefull for the 70 mile commute I have one way. I would try the 5 dollar solution before spending 100 dollars. Just my opinion.

I put a cloth-covered ponytail elastic between the grip and the switchgear. Been there almost two months, no problems.
I couldn't see spending over $100 on a Throttlemeister, regardless of how nice they look and work.

Elaborate about the ponytail elastic? About the size of your thumb and index finger (the "OK" sign), about 1/8" in cross-section. I stole one from my cat.

I just looped it between the throttle grip and the switchgear "pod" (where the kill switch, etc. is located). There was a perfect amount of room for the elastic. I don't know if you need to adust this space. It just worked on my bike.

I have read where others use rubber bands or o-rings, but they seem to have a tendency to bind and/or twist after several on/off throttle applications.

The cloth-covered elastic slide pretty nicely between the throttle grip and the switchgear pod.

I read about this idea on one of the BMW pages, so it's not my original idea.

...serious stuff deleted...
your cat has a ponytail??? :tasty:

Serious now:
1. throttlemeister and heated grips (standard Triumph ones) any experience with that?
2. import in Belgium? Netherlands? France? Europe???
