If im in the market for a new bike I would like to know what the real deal is, so once again i pose the question, lets see if it gets removed again, if so why.
if the 05 and 06 sprints are so good as you all say, why are people trading them in or selling them after about 2000 miles.
the lates one is for 7900.00 with 2100 on the clock, this is a 13k bike what gives for real.

I'll also post again.

They are a great bike IMHO even with the soft brake and suspension issues. I would just do a job on the brakes if it became a problem.

I'm not trading mine though..

Go to any kind of bike forum and you'll find low milage bikes people are selling for various reasons.
BTW...I paid $10,800 for my '06 Sprint brand new.

I would recommend the Sprint (05-07) to anyone! I love mine, picked it up in June and put 7000 miles on it since. It is very comfortable for me since I'm 6'4". Plus, I scored the "Free bags" deal. Those worked so nice on my various trips to NY, VT, and Cape Cod this summer. It will hold 100 on the highway for hours and is still fun to zip around on the back roads. Torque like nobody's business, and it will wheelie in first if you want it to. Even under hard acceleration it will hold the wheel off the ground about 4-6 inches for the entire first gear. I wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world. I have not experianced the heat issue everyone talks about, the seat gets a little hot when it's 90+ degrees out there. Tossed some heated grips on and I'm still riding to work comfortable as long as it's not raining. I don't think you'd be dissappointed, shop around though, it shouldn't be a $13k bike.....

I enjoyed my '05 so much... I bought an '06..... I like my '06 so much... I have just ordered an '07!!! ( Black )

Someone out there is getting my old bikes with low K's/M's for a good saving And getting a great bike to enjoy.... ( although the '06 does not really qualify as... 'low' K's with 92000km/57000miles on the Odo) :-D

Stay upright!

Graeme

69junk,
if you think there is a big problem read the thread "Why I love my Sprint"

It may add some balance for you.

Good luck

It all comes down to personal taste.

I know people who have bought a Sprint ST and sold because it didnt have the explosive acceleration of a rice rocket.

The question to ask yourself is what kind of riding do you want to do?

My bike is my primary means of transport and for me the Sprint ST is the ideal package. I prefer a bike tuned for bottom end and midrange. Top end speed is quite useless for street/everyday/touring riding, IMHO. The ST has bags of torque and fills a number of roles quite well.

I am planning on getting a 600 sports bike for throwing around on those days when I feel like being on a lighter bike and going for a thrash and track days.

I know the Triumph wont mind. I always go back to her.

Brett.

Bloody hell, Graeme, where do you find the time (and places to go) to rack up over 90,000K a year? I thought I do reasonably well clocking up between 20-30,000K....

That's some miles!

Tell me about it Russ!

The bike needs a new seat!

My GF lives 500km away... and i do most of the travelling! + riding to work 6 days a week....
The '06 has been terrific, with no major reliability issues, just normal maintenance and the expected wear & tear although as you would expect it is starting to feel a little tired... still looks pretty good too, although the paint is starting to fade, typical of red paint in Aust.
I think as a long term purchase ( from my experience ) the '06 has been excellent... I was not as happy with the '05 ( brakes, engine heat, rubber components etc. )

I'm looking forward to the '07, although I almost traded onto another '06! and i am really hoping to significantly trim the K's down! ( GF is moving here! )

I did 114700kms in 12mths on my first bike ( Honda VT-250F )

I Love to Ride!

( Sorry if i have hijacked the thread 69junk but I, for 1, can attest to how good the Sprint is! )

Stay upright all!

Graeme.

I've sold my 05 and have an 07 Tiger on order. At age 56 I'm more comfortable on a "standard" bike. No complaints about the ST, just need to sit up a little straighter these days.
