I've been reading up on all the posts regarding the heat kit install on the '06 Sprint ST's. I'm wanting to have my dealer order and install it under warranty. He says he hasn't heard about a "kit" and will look into it. Meaning, it's not on his priority list. I guess other riders who bought the Sprints aren't too concerned about it, but I am. I am still confused with the info mentioned regarding the heat kit. Some have posted the factory part numbers for the individual pieces involved. One lister posted the number for the "kit" but wasn't sure if it was correct. Another lister says there is no number that it's just called a heat kit. A lister mentions that it is not the foam pieces that constitute the kit but some plastic pieces that divert the heat away. I want to know who within the USA has had this done for them at their dealership. What is the actual correct factory number for this heat kit, if any, and has their dealership done the job for you to your satisfaction. I need the what, where, when, and how details to have something to arm myself with when I approach my dealership. The heat doesn't bother me all the time. When it does, I just ride with my knees out farther away from the bike to cool off my legs.

Thanks ahead to any the can help.

Triumph will have the dealer install the "kit" for free.
I don't have any info on the numbers ect....but call Peter at Triumph customer service and he'll send the kit to the dealer you want to go to.
Mine was installed by Orange County Motorsports in Santa Ana Ca.
Thats where I bought the bike, but ANY authorized dealer SHOULD do it for you.
The added insulation made a big difference in the heat...I was literally being burned on the thighs (through Draggin' Jeans) before the added insulation.

It's just the regular Triumph customer service number, just ask for Peter he's the "only" customer service rep for the United States.

Suposedly Triumph has handled the "heat issue" on the new Sprints

I am planning on wraping the exhaust from start of the header primaries to where it exits the fairing.

I might use the heat kit as a template for some really high tech insulating materials...

I had this done in September, The numbers are as follows.

Part number: T2301521 spares kit foam fairing pads (heat shield)

If you call it a heat shield recall, or warranty they, just talk to Triumph warranty and they know about it. I was told by Peter Carleo.

My dealer did not want to do it as well, in the end good service on this matter.

My dealer knew nothing about this kit.I gave him the part numbers that I saw on this site, when I got them I put them on myself, quite easy.Part numbers are:R/H fairing T2301508,L/H fairing T2301507,Tank T2401500.Don't know if they help,it's been to ***** cold outside to tell.Iwish I would have waited until spring to put them on,the heat would feel good now.Good luck.
