Spent a lovely day at the vintage races at Barber Motorsport Park on Sat. Triumph had a tent set up with demo rides available on every model.Lot Wonderful placeof people were taking advantage. Also on display were a 2007 Tiger and 2007 Sprint. Yea,at first glance, I think the bars might interchange. Lots of Triumphs about. Saw Sir John Surtees make some hot laps in a 1964 Ferrari GP car plus a 500cc MV . Both marvelous and worth the price alone. Wonderful track and facility. My faithful steed got me there and back in fine fashion. (I expected nothing less). All makes for terricic weekend.

Yeah, maybe it has something to do with approaching being vintage yourself. There were two other fourtunate things about the weekend. With all the wonderful old things one could have bought, 1-I couldn't afford any and 2 - I couldn't have hauled them one the Sprint anyway. ( See, motorcycles really are economical).

They started the Ferrarri in the basement last year at the AMA races. I can only imagine how great it sounded pulling a load and going up and down the gearbox.

It was one of those you had to be there experiences to see that Ferrari and here it under the skilfull hands of Sir John. One could only imagine what a GP race from that era would have sounded like. By the way, every lap he ran (Ferrari and MV) the pace picked up.
