AFter I got my Sprint ST 02 back from the shop I noticed that there seemed to be two hoses that were not connected on one end. I always noticed what I assmed to be the gas overfill one near the oil filler cap. Now I've got 3 open end hoses. One of th ones I'd never noticed before had the open end placed the side near the chain and the other just dangling near the suspension spring. I had a valve job done on my bike so t he mechanic would have had to take the tank off and I"m wondering if he forgot to attache something? The bike seems to be running fine. I think one of the hoses might have to do with the coolant. The ohter one I traced back and I can see it appears to be attached to the underside of the gas tank on the clutch side.

Shoule I be concerned? Are these drain hoses I just never noticed before?

I know what two of them are, the third I can't say.

One of them will be a vent for the fuel tank, the other is a drain for the over-fill on the tank.

I am not for sure, but I do not think that there is an overflow line on the coolant resevoir. Can't remember for sure when I had the tail plastic off of mine. If that line does run to the coolant reserve, the other end should be connected to the radiator near the fill cap to help catch overflow and keep her properly topped off.

I guess you could just take it back and ask them what they all are and if they are supposed to be there.

Thanks for tips. I looked and there is a hose connected to the rad just below the cap. There are two hoses attached to the plastic coolant tank. I'm assuming the hose attached to the rad is one piece and thustly the other end is one of the ones on the coolant tank. I suppose if that's not the case and the rad it connected to the plastic collant case with two hose connected together that there is a chance once of the hoses was hot attached to the connector and that's what I"m seeing dangling? I've got an email into the shop that did the work.

If anyone else has some insights I'd appreciate.

As well as the tank vent and overflow hoses which attach to the tank just above the fuel line couplings, there's also a hose that runs from the fuel pressure regulator to the air box. This seems to serve no useful purpose, as mine rotted at the airbox end several thousand miles ago, and has not caused any running problems, although I will replace it next time I need to remove that tank

I fiddled around today and traced back the two hoses that have unconnected ends I did not notice before the servicing. One attaches to the fuel tank on the back brake pedal side of the bike. There are two hoses coming out side by side. The couplings are visible in the space between the tank and plastic fairing below the tank. The hose that is not attached to anything on one end is attached to the connector closest to the front of the bike (right one if looking at them square on from side). The other hose that has one end unattached to anything is connected on the underside of the tank on the clutch lever side of the bike.
