Any body know how much a new right lower fairing (red) for a 06 Sprint ST cost? I put my Sprint down today, first time in 35 yeas of riding on the road. Going between 50 to 60 mph around a very familiar turn, but did not see a pile of loose sand and gravel in the road. I had the bike pretty well leaned over and it happened in about 1/10 of a second. It rainded here in New Jersey the past two days and I guess it washed the debris into the road. No more blind/dark corners that fast. I was very lucky there was no traffic coming the other direction. I got a good case of road rash on my right hand and leg, with good protection on too. You and your motorcycle sure can slide a long way. Its time to start doing track days!

lcdtmd,
that's not so good mate. Sorry I don't know what the fairing costs but glad you were not seriously hurt.

Yes you certainly can slide or "fly" a long way (done both a few times).

Good luck with the repairs and the road rash.

P.S. Funny you should mention Trackdays.

After my get-off on my Sprint and a couple of performance awards from the local LEO's I switched my spirited riding to the track.

BEWARE: It's addicting! After my first taste of the track I had to go buy an R6, so it was a pretty expensive addiction as well.

I noticed after a couple of track days how much I slowed down on the public twisties. I still have my moments but I'm OK with the chicken strips now.

As for a track bike, every couple of years the racers will upgrade to the latest hot bike to stay competitive. Their used bikes are generally in very good shape, have all the trick stuff (Olins etc.) and are reasonably cheap

Thanks to every body for your input and suggestions. At $500 for the new faring, I'm surprised its not more, pleasantly surprised. You know Triumph parts are expensive when you go to the BMW dealership to buy similar accessories at a cheaper price. Its ironic I just got the bike back from the dealer the day before after the 6000 mile service. I won't get the iron butt award, but 6000 miles in 4 months isn't too bad for me. I am honored, and sore, to be a member of such an illustrious fellowship of butt sliding riders. Its amazing how many new aches and pains can surface in 24 hours. Its just not fair being a 19 year old locked in a 51 year old body, and today is the first day I actually feel 51 years old. I'll never grow up, I promise! Life should always be enjoyed young at heart.

I had some events back in May, you can look in my photo album and see the bike rash on both sides of my bike. I had them repainted including the upper fairing and fender for 750$ Cnd. This route was much better in my opinion. They matched the paint dead on. I had the decals made at a sign shop for cheaper. The only thing I had to get from Triumph was the chrome slash. At 50$ a pop it was the most expensive part. I now have LSL frame sliders to hopefully save some of that plastic if ever the bike should touch the ground again in a non appropriate manner.

Glad you are healing up. Usually the first 48 hours we know all the aches and pains we have made in a bump. This is from my day job as a chiropractor. Things can slowly appear for 14 days following though.

Good luck, heal quick, ride hard.

Replaced the lower left on 01 sprint. Cost $380. FYI the dealer ordered the stickers seperate and then come to find out that the fairing comes with the decals already on so you shouldn't have to purchase them.

Sorry to hear about your spill - I hope all is well glad to hear it doesn't sound more serious could have been a lot worse. Get well soon
