During tonight's ride my low fuel light appeared and did not shut off after refilling the gas tank. Is this light prone to 3 deep cycle starts to reset like the check engine light? The bike is a 2001 Sprint ST with 14k miles on it.

Thanks,
Jim

i have had to put a little leaded fuel in on one occasion to get me 3 kms to a service station.
In that instance my fuel light (or was it another dash light?) stayed on for 3 cycles.

Bike was running well, oil level was OK, no strange noises, so I banked on it being OK to continue riding.

My '02 ST did the same thing (sort of) about a month after I bought it.

The gauge kept reading less & less, till one day the light came on and never went out.

The bike was still under warantee, so I had the work done for free, but.......turned out the level sending unit had gone bad. I have heard it is pretty common on our year-bikes.
