You guys dont' know me because I only had my bike for a few days before it was stolen last month. Today it was recovered in pretty bad shape... notice the duct tape holding the headlight cluster on!

I hope this does not turn you off of Triumph motorcycles. Thieves should be horse-whipped, then put in a cage full of rabid weasels.
Was it laid down? I don't see sKrape marks on the bodywork or metal.

Dont know about the insurance yet...I actually hope it is a write off and I can just start over from scratch. Just not sure I want a bike that is a theft recovery and wrecked.

The bike was laid down... you can see the right side frame slider is bent way back and the headlight is all f'd up. I posted some real pictures above and replaced the preliminary camera phone pics that I originally posted.

Some may take offense to this comment, but I hope the effin squid that stole it was not wearing a helmet at the time and wearing shorts when he went down! I agree with hoping it to be a wright off especially since you didn't have it long enough to even get it dusty! Not to worry, now days most insurance company's wright them off. The plastic alone will set them back near 3 grand! The gauge pod will be another $1100! Most insurance company's wright off anything that approaches 50% value as they are on the hook for after service work until the vehicle is right if things pop up later. They usually prefer to avoid that hassle and seeing that most have very little experience with bikes it becomes even easier to just wright you a check and avoid any liability for any possible injuries from something that got missed down the road.

I read one report from a guy in England last year where the insurance company was willing to replace his non ABS model with an ABS model because that is what the dealer had in stock and they just wanted to close the file. No extra cost just get the bike and get on with it!

Sorry for your bad luck, but I see a new 2007 Sprint in your future!

Thats not a happy sight to see. Having had a vehicle stolen I'm well familiar with that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. Maybe the maggot who stole it did drop it . Maybe he got a terminal case of road rash that set up a gangrenous infection and he died a slow and agonizing death. If the authorities ketch him, may they give him a fair trial and hang him.

Sorry to hear this type of stuff.

I'll bet ya a nice cold drink of your choice she's a write-off. Every nick on every piece is something that has to be replaced.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm with DaveM and Stlakid shoot the bastards and then string em up! I hope you get it sorted quickly and a new 07 model would make it all worthwhile if you're lucky enough.

Thanks all for the kind words. It was a very strange feeling to see the bike recovered like this, I actually never expected to see it again.

They actually arrested the guy riding it because he led the police in a high speed chase for a few miles before he finally gave up. He had two other outstanding warrants to his name and now he obviously has added another. He claims that he bought the bike in this condition which may or may not be true. Either way, one would have to realize that a vehicle is stolen when you are buying something with no keys and no title.

Strange thing is, you can see in the mess of wiring how they pulled everything apart and even destroyed the starter relay (immobilizer maybe?) to get the bike running. It is amazing to me that the thing even goes at all without the cluster... I thought that the cluster would be an integral part of the ECU. Guess not!
