I received my G&L Corbin seat last week (ordered through a dealer BEFORE the price reduction - damn).

To get the seat latch to operate I had to shave the rear rubber supports on the seat down by one eigth inch and raise the latch mechanism on washers to the max. The latch had been already raised after I installed the rear rack

Anyone else had to do this or is my 2003 ST unique?

Great seat though. Looking forward to the time it has been ridden in.

I am on my third corbin seat and have had to get the Dremel out each and every time. It is a bit of a pain but once set it is a great upgrade from stock. Especially on long rides. Good luck!

I had to shave the rubber but didn't have to do anything to the latch. My rack was installed before delivery, so maybe that was set already. I also prefer it to be a little harder to click right now as I'm sure it will settle with the weight of use. I cannot wait to get her out for a spin. It has been monsoon country this week in SE Pennsylvania.

I drilled out the two rear bumperson the seat when I installed mine. Otherwise it wouldn't latch. I also have the luggage rack installed. I don't think the corbin seats fit properly with the luggage rack installed unless you drill out the rear two bumpers or shave them. I've been very happy with my corbin, now with over 6k on it.

Sounds like I may be in the minority, but mine went on fine with no adjustments, shaving or drilling. Luggage rack was already on.

...FWIW
