I've tipped while staionary twice and was able to immediately right the bike, waited a bit and started up and ran fine.

Last night it rained hard and dummy me hadn;t put the plate under the kickstand and this morning I find the bike on the left side... I figure it was like this 4-5 hours anyway before I found it... it is up against the side of the garage so I'll need muscle friedns to right it.

Question.. I know prior years had a serious issue with hyro-lock from oil coing in on top of the pistons, but that this was resolved and should not be an issue. Are there other concerns I should have from the bike laying on it's side for 12 hours or more?

I bought a ST that had done the same thing. when I got there to look at it it was on its left side. we don't know how long it had be like that, it would not spin over because of oil in the cyl. I went ahead and got it anyway. I got it home, and put it in 1 st gear and push on it BACKWARDS it took about 5 min to get the oil out of the cyl. but it worked for me. You can pop a hole in the piston if you put to much pressure on it, you can take the spark plugs out. and turn it over, this will do the same thing. it will smoke for a few min. but it will clear up. hope this helps.
