Do any of you have GenMar bar risers on an 05/06 ST?

I would be very interested to hear your impressions of them if so.

Thanks,

Django

Looked at a set of Bar Risers for my Sprint ST 2006 and decided against, spoke to the guy in the shop said he has had them in stock for a while and no one was interested and also said that they may interfere with the fairing but was anxious for me to be the first to try them. I don't think so :???:

I have installed the Gen Mar risers on my 06 Sprint and can report that they do NOT hit the fairing.

I am tall at 6'3" and this has greatly helped the fatigue on the wrists. I now can ride several hours where as before the modification, a break was needed more frequently.

For the low cost and the improvement of comfort it is a very inexpensive addition.

A gentleman in the service department (manager?) at my dealer has a 2005 Sprint ST for sale that has GenMar risers. He installed them to get himself a little more upright to compensate for neck issues, and he had nothing bad to say about them. (He's selling the bike because of additional physical issues that make riding it difficult.)

The bars go lock to lock without hitting anything, and he didn't have to replace any lines/cables.

Same here... I have the GenMars and had no trouble installing them.

There were no cables to replace, and I went from having a numb right hand on every trip over 50 miles to being able to do 700+ mile days without a problem.

I hear the 07's will have more upright bars from the factory.

I installed GenMar risers on my 06 and they greatly improve the riding position for me, but we are all different. I did, however, have to reroute the brake hose behind the lower triple clamp to have enough reach. Another improvement I made was to place a rubber gasket (made from an innertube) both above and below the GenMar which has nearly completely eliminated the bar buzz I had at 4000 rpm.

I also put a set of GENMARS on my '06 Sprint and I love them. I had to reroute my clutch cable. They made a huge difference in long ride comfort. :-D

Put Gen Mars on my 05 and a trottle rocker (for long slab rides) all wrist issues went away. Cables were no problem. Will try the inner tube thing though. Did a 550 mile day without a problem

Brilliant - thanks to all for your responses. As always, you guys are generous. considered and helpful.

If anyone has put them on, not liked them and consequently taken them off, their opinion would also be useful.

Cheers,
