Does anybody know how to turn the front indicator lights only into running lights on the ’06 ST?? I would buy the Kisan SignalMinder module and use its running light feature but it is illegal to have rear amber running lights in California.

I know that I will need dual-contact bulb sockets………..but that is where my knowledge stops!!

Thanks as usual - BB

I've installed Run-N-Lites on several BMW's and was always annoyed that I had spent 30 bucks to get a few dollars worth of hardware. Anyway, they only supply kits for BMW's.

I recently bought an '03 ST and will be looking to do the same with the front and possible the rear signals. This is not very difficult - finding a dual circuit bulb socket and then wiring the running light contact to a switched feed circuit.

I will investigate the details and post my findings......

Hey BlackBeauty,
Do you know if they really enforce that amber law? I replaced my rear turn signals with dual filament bulbs using one filament as a turn signal and the other as a running light. The lens is amber, so I asked several retired PA state police about it. They said they would never waste their time over that. I did the same on a Connie prior to my current ST and have been running from GA to PA and all states in between without any problems.

Hi - thank you very much for the responses. I actually these ereally neat, little units that allow you to alter the front lights independently - link is below. They turn the indicators on all the tie mand interrupt the current when you want to indicate. I have an appt. at the dealer to get them wired in - there is NO way I am atempting it!!

I do not know whether they enforce the amber light law - but it would be one less thing if somebody felt like pulling me over. I like to thini I am law-abiding with common sense thrown in - e.g., I always try and ride a little faster than the main flow and although this i speeding, I believe it puts me in a safer position on the road. I doubt it would be enforced - there are so many other blatant things that aren't. I'm probably paranoid!!

Thanks again - BB

Update: I had my local shop install them and a few hours later, they do exactly as it says on the box.

I'm very happy with them and they seem a very neat solution to what I wanted. I think the running lights up high are good for added visibility.

The indicators do flash more quickly now - they would need a different load relay. But I think they are fine as they are and do not plan to "correct" the flash rate.

Anyway - just wanted to let you know that they worked.

Neat product, glad they worked BB.

I think (not sure) but in Texas, the rear running lites HAVE to be red if they are on all the time.

Anyone changed thier rear lites out? Did you change the housing, or, just the lens? Is there a red lens for the Sprint?

Thanks!

There is small T15 glasbase bulb so it is not easy to find so small dual filament bulb and base. (Base is similar than T10)

I have clear lenses and 36xled bulbs so maybe i modify those so that couple of those leds work as running lights...
