Have any of you ridden in Arkansas? I am thinking about arkansas for a trip with two others. I ride an ST, another rides a Aprillia falco, and the third rides a Blackbird. We're looking for good twisties, good scenery, little traffic.

I've never ridden in Arkansas, therefore if we are going I want to go see the best.
So.........what is the best?

Here's a link. As for me, western/north western is the best, but there are mile upon miles of great rodes in northern AR, and southern MO. I'm thinking of going down there this coming weekend, we'll have to see tho. Be safe, there are a few unmarked curves down there! Motorcycle Roads.

The best roads are in the NW corner. Stay above I-40. Stay West of a line straight North from LIT. Avoid 65 except to get to other roads.
You have a pm.

one of the most memorable trips i took was IN>KY>TN>AR back in the first week of Oct 1999 on a '98 speed triple.

Hwy 7 north from Hot Springs was INCREDIBLE - spent a good 4-5 hours in the mountain twisties. nice sweepers and great scenic overlooks as well.

i'll definitely be hitting this one in the next year or so to see how the Sprint handles it.

My brother in law and I were tooling around the northern arkansas area (mountain home, norfolk etc). I don't think I found the best roads, but they sure weren't bad.

Most roads up there are good.. Just watch for Gas there are some paces up there that you could get in trouble (no gas for 50+ miles)

I can send you some map for a Garmin GPS (if you have one)

There is a good book written by Mario Caruso see www.arkansasrider.com for the best routes in the state - reference HWY 16 west of 65 , HWY 23 north of Russelville, and the world class HWY 7 North of Hot Springs. Good riding.

I live close by, and recently got back from a 900 miler over a long weekend riding my Sprint with a friend on a Thunderbird Sport. Fantastic roads, espcially state highways 23 and 7. You should not have any problem finding gas even in the remote rural parts, and you will find Arkies to be very biker friendly. The NW quadrant of the state is best for twisties and scenery. Some great ridin in SE Missouri, and NE Oklahoma in general all these areas are in the Ozark region. Take the advice of Triplescout. You'll love it in the fall.

Just got back Sunday nite from a 1100 mile weekend down there! Had a GREAT time!! Highway 76, 90, and 125 in MO are awesome! Rode 37 and 23 around Eureka Springs. Plus rode 7 all the way to Russellville, then made our way to Mena to ride the Talimena Drive before heading home. When in MO, just watch out for chip sealing, they are starting to use it.
