Okay, Just checking out their web site to look. It's a neat bike, big and comfortable. Then I went to look at the accessories and, this a quote for the 'top box'

'Not recommended for use in combination with saddlebags because it increases the risks of overloading the motorcycle.'

uh, the bike weights 550lbs

Have the lawyers taken over the world?

PS
the Sprint is the best anyway.

Hi Bskibeat,
When I was shopping for a new bike, I checked the carrying weight capacity of many bikes. Believe it or not, but the Sprint has one of the highest weight carrying ratings I found. It is nearly 100 pounds greater than the Goldwing. Anyway one of the things that pointed me to it was that Triumph gave an honest carying capacity instead of some ridiculously low number that effectively means if you weigh more than your mean average body weight you will overload the bike two up.

I wonder if they're concerned that it might become too top heavy and potentially unbalanced?
I've never really gone for top boxes for that reason, but yes, I'm sure you've got a point with the litigation aspect.

Have you noticed how many things our own Triumph manual says not to do because it "might cause loss of control or an accident". And 3 or 4 "warning" or "caution"
highlighted paragraphs per new page? Everyone is scared of being sued by not being specific enough with instructions. Lawyers look for every loophole in order to shift the blame. Shameful way to earn a crust really!
