Panniers for 05 with a ventura rack

I have already fitted a Ventura rack to my 05 ST and I am planning to ride to Phillip Island for the "supers" in March 07.
I was thinking on getting genuine panniers. Can you still have a ventura rack with the Panniers ?? Or do they clash.

According to Ventura’s own website the Ventura tailpack can be used with Triumph panniers, but a double check might be adviseable…..

I missed out on the free panniers so I am considering the Ventura system instead. Would you recommend it? How many of the options is it worth buying?

Lithium - some pics in my album if you want to see what it looks like.
The 45l pack plus another smaller pack strapped on is enough for a week away for me.
Also I have a 10l bag which is OK for day rides.
I like it because it is well made and fairly unobtrusive when underway - (it doesnt stick out) also it is quite a bit cheaper than the hard luggage.
Obviously not as secure as hard luggage though.
A helmet fits in the 45l pack no problem.
Swapping of packs and frames is easy.

Thanks for the info. Iceman. I guess the main pic above was taken in NZ but if I didn’t know better I’d think it was my ST someplace nice in Scotland!

snap! grip put up some photos a couple of days ago of his first ride in Scotland - my comment was it looked like NZ :-D
We have fences though to keep the sheep off the road.
Photo was taken on west coast near top of North Island so Australia is somewhere in the distance.

Further to my Ventura rack posting
I have tried the Ventura bags and have finally settled on a RJays Explorer bag that fits on my Ventura Rack.
I have had a number of bags and the explorer is the best i have seen. It is huge and expands both at the side pockets and the actual bag. I do not know if they are available outside Aus . If so , i cannot recommend highly enough .
Do a search on google to see if they available in UK or US
