Can anyone tell me where the alarm mounts?

I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a location that will fit and also within reach of the battery cable and factory harness

Am I wrong in assuming that it won't fit under the seat, and if it did the heat would cook it?

The only other location I can see that might work is under the left side fairing near the coolant tank. Problem is that the battery cable won't reach the battery.

I need help!

TIA.

Hey Mack. I just got your email and sent you a reply so check there. Basically, once removing the tank, I found room between the airbox and the frame rail on the right hand side near the steering head. The factory harness kit easily mounted my alarm there (as that is where the factory connector is also). I zip-tied the MCM onto of what may be a breather hose??? Not sure. Anyways, that kept the MCM stablized in this position. From there, the battery supply line I simply followed along the factory wiring to the battery. Not much spare room, but made it. My perimeter sensor I mounted with velcro ontop of the battery--its wiring had enough room to reach back to the MCM, again along the factory wiring. Zip-tied everything with black zip-ties. Since I bought the harness kit, I didn't have to splice to the turn signals. My alarm had the anti-hijack/ignition disabler, which I mounted right by the MCM, and that required me to splice one wire only. I have pix of that wire splice from Scorpio, albiet from the Daytona (same wire though as the Sprint). Heat concerns me alittle, but, the factory harness is located here, so? Besides, anywhere inside the fairings on this bike I figure will be pretty toasty! Let me know if you need more info/help. Maybe I could try some pix, but would need to borrow a dig camera. Kevin :-D

PS---test fitting is obviously a must as you already found!! :hammer:

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot and see if I can't get this thing installed.
