I`ve owned my 04 st for 18 months and have only just noticed that the front wheel is a different colour to the back one. DOHHHH!
How on earth didn`t I spot it?? The fornt is a very dark silver, almost graphite and the rear is an aluminium silver, the same as the bike.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one??
Is it only the silver bikes that are like this?
Does anybody know why they are different colours?

Did you buy it used ? May be the previous owner changed the wheel.

I'm going to ask a stupid question. How clean is the bike? I know brake dust and road grime could accumulate and change the tone of the color. Just pitching an idea. I can't recall Triumph ever really changing the color of the silver wheels. They did change from black to silver/grey about 2001. But black is REALLY obviously different :-D

I just checked mine and found the same! The front wheel is a different shade of silver to the back. I know it can't be blamed on the previous owner as I have owned the bike since new.

Like Nelson, I bought the bike new. I don`t clean it that often, the back wheel is normally fairly oily, so I figure thats why I`ve never picked up on it. I was giving it a thorough de-gunk yesterday and stood back to admire my handywork when I noticed it. I think on a blue or green bike, it would be easier to spot.

Yeah, noticed this a while ago. Front is a bit darker than the back.

Read somewhere the wheels are made by Brembo FWIW.

Went to the dealer today, the head mechanic has seen it before, mostly on the very late 04 bikes. Apparently the back wheel is the one that`s wrong, they`re both supposed to be the darker silver. Triumph have fixed a few under warranty, they pay for the rear wheel to be repainted. I can`t say that I`m concerned enough about it to make a warranty claim.
