how do you ensure that the plastic grips don't scratch the tank when riding without the tankbag?

But great idea... I'm going to make something similar.

I guess my pics don't show it real good if you had to ask... :-D

The two straps in the back are under the seat. At the base of the tank, right in front of the battery, there is a little square opening that the piece under the seat goes into. Well there is also enough room in there for the straps, clips, and the tab on the front of the seat.

The two straps in the front are tucked under the fairing. These are the two that I am thinking about adding another set of clips to be able to quickly remove the straps also. But I'm not in a rush, because when they are tucked behind the fairing you can barely tell they're there.
