hi, nice bike, heat issue is a major problem you should have the upgrades already on an 06 model,
Headlights are H7 55W can not get stronger globes but able to use plus 50 which are brighter not stronger, same globe for low and high beams

Reason for asking is because I'm thinking of plugging in a coupla Xenon bulbs...in the low beam

They'd run longer and brighter with less heat and less wattage...

Anybody already doing this??

I had a Hella HID/Xenon on my BMW and loved it..

I've been reviewing several different ones on the websites--

XenonKing etc...

What your take on this??

Is there room to fit the ballast etc.?

Bulbs are H7 for all three as noted in the manual and stamped in the plastic on the clear front lens. First thing I did was swap out the stock bulbs for PIAA H7's for all three bulbs. Better light, same wattage, really like them.

Kinda on-topic: I finally had my first decent night ride on the Sprint. I can't say that I'm too keen on the headlights. Nice horizontal cut-off, but they don't seem to illuminate particularly far down the road. Road-surface lighting gets even worse when the bike leans. The high beam also doesn't add much in terms of reaching farther ahead of the bike.

Any solutions, other than +50s or PIAA replacements? Is there any aim adjust to be had?

I adjusted the aiming on both the low and high beams. The manual as a full description on where the adjust screws are. They are bit of a pain but not too bad. I adjusted the vertical adjustment on all three up to throw a bit further down the road. I aimed the lows just a bit more outward but not much.

There was thread somewhere here that discussed the particulars that might also be helpful.

Generally the manual walks through the specifics. I simply set the Sprint up in the garage on the center stand. Dropped the door and started making adjustments. Rode, came back, put the bike in the same spot and tweaked it.

STill not perfect but better than stock in my estimation.

Aske,
I adjusted the low beams in a split fashion, yes, to me they were useless from the dealer floor.
Take the right side low and screw it high up into the air, the threshold way above the oncoming cars, then take the left side low and screw that threshold onto the oncoming cars hood deck height, just below the drivers eye level. What you get is decent illumination for the twisty roads from the right side low (the higher the better) and it does not blind the oncoming cars.
The center high beam is useless and the PIAA replacement sounds like something I will do. Also, I have motolights to suppliment the high beams, operated with the high beam switch to keep things simple.

Thanks for the tips, huc and airrider03. I need to break down and grab a manual, so maybe this is the impetus I've been waiting for.

I saw the Motolights setup at the dealer and also checked them out online. But I was really hoping to get better illumination for less than a $300-$350 hit. You'd think THREE beams would throw some darn good light down the road.

I have the motolights on the tiger w/ the 35w bulbs, they nicely fill in what the stock lights leave out. Pricey, but they were a gift.
They could save a collision at night.
I liked them so much I splurged for the 55w version in black for the sprint.
