Went to Deals Gap yesterday and road the Cherohala Skyway. The bike did awesome, but I drug pegs a few times...especially in the Gap. I didn't like it. Is it safe to simple remove the curb feelers? My last bike was the Speed Four and it has more ground clearance, so dragging pegs wasn't a feeling I was use to.

Fun times. You can drag more than the pegs. Notice the white grind mark on the lower fairing. This is from the gap this spring, now the fairing is almost worn thru.

I think it's safe to take off the curb feelers. I've taken them off of a few different bikes! :-D My speedy's bellypan doesn't like the real tight stuff either! :-D

If you're grinding hard parts you need to get a cheek off the seat . I wouldn't take them off, they're there to let you know that if you lean the bike anymore you're going to risk cantilevering yourself off the tires. That's never a pretty result.

That belly pan scrape can get quite long, mines about 7" and also almost worn through.

The pegs and the centres stand will also drag at times!

Pegs cost about $50.00 US. I broke mine at the screw when the curb feeler hit a crack in the pavement and fractured the peg at the mount screw.

I wouldn't take them off. They are a good warning system. Just remember that if you are draggin something, you are close to dragging everything!
