2004 Sprint RS 955i can hang with the big boys. I entered a toll booth next to a Suxuky rsfx or what ever (he removed his stickers) and he gave me a look and bolted. Early in the Am, slight fog out, sun peeking out here and there and zero traffic. Our local highway patrol was changing guard and no local police either. So he got me in the start, whoo hoo. Caught him at 127mph and put it in sixth gear and pulled away from him at a cool 153 mph. Kept up at that speed for about 1minute 20 seconds. I wish I pulled my helmet strap a little tighter before the ride because it was a little loose, but with the small stock front windshield it was not that bad. I still had some white between needle and red line so I know I could go more. Met up with him a few miles down the road and you will never guess what he asked me.

You got me on a half naked bike, what kind is that? He looked on the side of my tank and said TRIUMPH!? They still make those?

I could not help myself, still stoked with the energy of my high speed race I said "Thats right, NOT YOUR DADDY'S TRIUMPH" Got to luv it! :-D

153?! The world sure goes by fast at that speed, eh? Have you done any performance improvements to your RS?

162 indicated (I think! It a little hard to read the speedo at that speed) on an ST and the tack wasn’t at red line. Damn that’s scary. Triumph? Does Donald Trump make those or did they just name it after him? Oh yes, someone really asked me that.

I've seen an indicated 145 and still pulling on my ST, but keep in mind that our speedos read about 10% fast, so an indicated 150 is really about 135. Mine has been checked with radar and gps and is exactly 10% optimistic.

Did a sustained 5 minutes 250 km/h that's about 155 miles/h I guess.
On German highway... it's legal there

And yes, it's like driving through a green (bushes and trees on the side) tunnel.... things (other cars/trucks) get nearer at an awfully fast pace...

BIKESDP, yes on the performance mod, a "Staintune" pipe and two pulls on a dyno machine. My bud rides with me and like you he is on an Aprilia 04rsv1000r. His and yours is all out sport, Sprint is for tour and some racing with the nakedness and all. Very windy at that speed. I found that I need a smaller jacket! flap flap flap

JERRY, damn, Donald Trump? again, damn.

RATRIER995, got lots of time on your hands to go all out with the gizmos and stuff. My bud and I go about the same speed and when I first took it up to 150, he passed me at 175mph. He is a crack addict. (Speed = crack.)

SPIDERTEX, was in Germany few years back, best route was 4 or 2 to Nurnburg. Wide open 4 lane on your side coming down a mountain side. Maxed out. The dashed lines become one straight line and thank God that most Germans know how to signal!

yep, I did my "stretch" on the A4.

I hate them hanging in the left lane though (as do the Dutch and the -more and more- the Belgians).

Oh, my 155 were done WITH paniers on
Talking of some air brake!!

I must be a wuss then. Only seen about 140 on the speedo before having to throuw out the anchors due to running out of road.

Mind you, on a scottish country road and with a Top Box that's not too bad.
