I guess this could have went somewhere else but this is the only place I post at on this site so here goes.

I wanted to add some of the color lighting to my bike like under fenders and such but didn't want to spend an arm an leg doing it. So for 10 bucks I purchased some computer lights and have started incorporating them into the bike. They have not been water proofed yet so I have to take them off in the rain. At least the transformer for the lights are not water proofed yet but the effect is pretty wild. Can't beat the price and just make sure you add an inline fuse.

I put neon behind my fairing, neon license plate and under rear tail plus led lights in fairing, under battery to shine on shock and a few other places.

It is definitely pretty cool! I priced the ones on the net made for bikes and wow, to pricey. Not when I can just get a water resistant switch and put the transformer in a box from lowes and do the whole project for 20 bucks tops. I put blue Cold Cathode Lights right above the radiator and it illuminates the fender and up through the bars. Nice effect!

I have 8 tubes on my st (see album for older pics) I have finally gotten some good placements for lots of light (new pics coming soon) but I will be switching to LED tubes soon less power consumption, no need to waterproof and lasts longer, no hassle in the cold or rock damage to the tubes... also brighter than neon. Also for those wanting to get rid of their fender, you can buy orange hyper LED's ... just incorperate them into the rear plastics & dump the stock signals my next project.

DannyTeets, I've used these for a while in computers but never thought about it for bikes. What are you using for a power supply? I never thought much past a 200w pc power supply that needs 110v.

rkx, I've seen your photo's before and they look great. Do you have any links for the LED tubes and orange LEDs that you mention?

Thanks!

specialises in high-vis LED emergency lighting. They have a neat site with some good pics. Law enforcement only, but you can get a good idea of what's possible with a minimal power draw...

My shop did the suspension, exhaust and programming for the maroon Caprice on that site, which also appeared in the "West Wing" season premiere.

I have a 500 watt power supply on my PC for OCing my Athalan 64 and running the pumps to cool the chip. Being PC's are 12 volt I figured I would give it a try. No probs yet. I ran them from home to work (2 hour drive) and no problems. And they draw such little current.
