Whats the best deal anyone has recently got on the new st with free panniers. I've been offered one for £7499. Can I do better ?

I am also looking for a good deal on a new ST. The best so far is £7799 in St Austell for the non ABS model in silver.
Where were you offered one at £7499? Maybe I could use the info to bate them down a little more. Was it an 06 model or a left over 05, and what colour? Silver doesn't seem to be as popular as Blue or Red. Incidently, they had just received a non ABS model in RED, so it must now be available in all three colours non ABS.
Do you have a trade in or not? This can affect the deal offered.

Have you test rode the new ST?
I did yesterday, but was dissapointed at the amount of slack in the drive train when coming on and off the throttle. Far noisier than my current 00 model. What is your experience?
Apart from that I think it is a brilliant machine.

Loook for dealers getting ready to sell 2005 demos. Don't know if they do that over in the UK but I bought mine over here from a dealer with the hard bags and warranty for $8500 OTD and only 900 miles on it. It was a 2005 demo bike.
