I have a 2001 Sprint. I have bought the two brothers exhaust slip on and a k&n filter. Some of the guys told me that it would not be wise to ride the bike without a remapp. Well i am now thinking about getting a power commander, but i get on their website and they do not have the numbers for a older model sprint 99-01 all they have is 05-06. So if i buy a power commander will i still have to take it to the dealer to have them remapp it, or is there a different name brand out there that has numbers i can put in the computer when i buy it for my bike?? Any response would be appreciated greatly.

I have a 2000 Sprint RS and my local dealer called the Power Commander people and they said we could use one for a speed triple. I did have to do a custom map but that is what you want anyway. With the custom map I gained way more
torque and horsepower from idle to WOT. From what I understand our Triumphs have software available which will enable you to perform a custom map without a power commander. Of coarse I was told after I bought one. I any case I am very happy with the results, net gain 10 hp 4.5 ft lb of torque. The biggest difference is in the mid range.

There is an alternative. Not sure how much a power commander is, but Wayne macDonald's Tuneboy is highly recommended

Tuneboy

I just put a PC on my RS (I know the Tuneboy is s'posed to be better, but got it off ebay from K&N for $100 new), the power commander is the Speed Triple one and fwiw, the sprint engine and S3 engine are the same for 00-01's. I am running Triumph Carbon exhaust with a K&N filter, so far I've just played with the mixture buttons on the PC but am getting a custom map done soon.
