Hello All - well, after trying in vain to reset my trip-o-meter according to the owner's manual, I decided to try what used to work on my '00 ST. Guess what - it worked. So - do NOT press whatevert wo buttons it saidfor 2 seconds - just press the trip (right hand one) for 2 seconds and hey presto.

Any other mistakes in the manual??

Take care - BB

I got my Sprint 12 months ago and that mistake was in the handbook then, also a couple of others eg conflicting advice on how often the chain needs oiling and a nonsense cutaway view of the gas tank.

Its a fairly cheap looking handbook and hard to believe they are still dishing them out - must be time for a reprint or at least a note stuck inside the book pointing out the errors :???:

Doesnt detract from a great bike though :-D

I went to a Triumph event at the Ace cafe in London a couple of weeks ago and got talking to one of the guys who write the manuals at Triumph.

"The manuals are written during the development stages and are printed up to 6 months before a bike launch and the designers keep changing things" was answer
:hammer: :hammer:

Incidentally he had a nice black ST

Owner's manual "mistake!?" ***! There is nothing in my manual that even resembles my actual instrumentation. I've got three lovely little black unmarked buttons under the speedo that control the electronic information features, which are all in their own readout on the other side of the tach. Not even a hint in the manual. Even better, the Triumph website does not seem to offer any manuals for downloads.

If it weren't for that engine . . .

Try adjusting the rebound damping on the shock - according to the manual, the adjustment screw is on the lower Right side. After 20min without any success finding it, I rode it to the dealer. We had three of us crawling around trying to find it when one of the Techs (an old hand at Brittish bikes) figured to look on the Left. Sure enough, there it was. Something about driving on the wrong side must have confused the manual writers... :-D

Yea, I wanted one in black which is unusual for me as i think it's a non colour. Just the whole package I think would look stunning. No go though. Perhaps in time I might risk a repaint.

On the manual, others I have noted - says the display will automatically reset to clock after a few seconds. I've left it for days with no change...

Asked the shop about it, they were going to check it out, but too hard. One item that is correct is to reset the main readout you need to hold both right hand buttons down.

Other Motorcycle: Blue08 Tiger1050 - trade
Extra Motorcycle: White07 SpdTple - crashed
I feel much better about not finding mine now :-) . It was this list and it's great info/response that identified the left side for me.
