Black fluid coming out of tire??

Hello,

I just noiced something weird, there are drip marks of some thick fluid coming out of where my rear tire meets the rim.
Also there's some dried out white depsit on the rim near the fluid marks. The white stuff goes off the rim with little finger ation.

What is this stuff, preservation fluid comng out?

The bike has 490 miles on it and I am taking it for service tomorrow, should i be freaking out at them because of this or?

Sounds like the sealer that is put on the rim to help the tire bond to the rim. Might be the grease that they use to help the tire slide onto the rim during mounting. Is it greasy fluid or sticky fluid?

Any pressure loss?? if not, stop freaking, and clean the ***** off with WD-40.

If it was me I would not be worried I would imagine it is most likely the soapy gunk they use when fitting tyres, the whiter stuff is probably some coating that was on the wheel after manufacture and not competely removed.

I am quite sure you do not need to panick.

Checking pressures should reassure you.
