I know this has been talked about before; so I guess I'm looking for updates.

The stock seat on my Sprint is pretty lousy. To the point that it is limiting my use of the bike. So far the only alternatives I have seen or heard about are Corbin and Sargent. I'm not crazy about Corbin, and Sargent doesn't have anything for my bike. Yet. I heard rumors that they are planning something, but not any day soon.

Any other alternatives out there?

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm yet to find a stock seat that works as intended.

I wouldnt bother with a Corbin. There are a lot of people that love them, but I've heard/seen enough negative experiences for me not to risk my hard earned.

Sargent will make a seat through their custom service, but that is expensive if you're on a budget.

Saddleman may do something, but again I think a custom job is all thats available from them at this stage.

Triumph do a gel seat, again it aint cheap and I've heard mixed results. A common complaint is that it heats up in warm weather and cooks your butt!

For now I'm putting up with the stock seat, while saving for a custom Sargent. Maybe by the time I have the cash, they will have an off the shelf World Sport available.

Good Luck!

Brett.

You guys try to be patient. I'm having Rick Mayer rebuild my seat and I should know how it is in a few weeks.

You should be happy with the Rick Mayer seat. He did one for my Tiger that transformed it. I rode nearly 1500 miles in 3 days comfortably.

On my first generation Sprint seat the answer, for me, was the a beaded pak I got at Honda dealer for about $12. Had tried Triumph's "touring" seat and a Corbin. Have a Corbin on my 05 and am well satisfied, but I like the seat HARD.

I ordered a Corbin Gunfighter and fit it on and LOVE it. I have the stock seat sitting in storage if anyone is interested in sending it to those other guys to have redone. $125.00US +shipping and it’s yours.

Maybe its me but I find the stock seat on the Sprint ST better than most bikes I have ridden. Better than the stock ST1300 seat that I did 1480 miles in 21 hours on.

Other Motorcycle: I wish
I use the Triumph Gel seat, and my other half and I find it very comfortable.

Having said that seats and bums on seats are a personal thing and one seat does not suit all.

Good luck with your seat hunting boys.

I have the Corbin Gunfighter on my '06 Sprint. It took a little tweaking to get it to fit right, but now its great. Very comfy, plus the seat can be removed with a twist of the key - no more struggling with those ridiculous bolts.
