I'm not sure if this has been covered before.

This company has been around for a while and make some pretty solid claims about their product, in terms of increased fuel efficiency etc.

Has anyone had any experience with this or something similar?

Is there an engineering type person that can explain it in plain Englais?

Cheers,
Brett.

It is funny that you mention it as I am currently doing some trials on fuel consumption now that I have put a Fitch in the tank.

Prior I was getting about 220-230 kilometres before the fuel light came on (about 45mpg) and now I am currently getting around 280-290 k before the light comes on (about 55mpg). That 's about a 24.75% decrease in fuel usage according to my adding machine

I was cautious about making claims on comparisons this early in to the test but initially I am quite impressed.

Starting, acceleration, smoothness is about the same but the MPG is a great improvement IMO.

A guy at work tried it in his Yami V1200 and got better acceleration and better fuel economy also.

It works well for me anyway, and I ride pretty hard too.

Ok so it seems it does work after all.

What model are you using?

Is it one of the drop in types they recommend for motorcycle use?

Brett.

Beach, I've had one of these FuelCat in my Harley for about 2 years.

Some will say it's snake oil, others, like Steventhechef will say "good to go". There are plenty of people selling junk that is supposed to do something like save fuel, increase power etc, but the fuelcat seems to have research behind it.

It did reduce the pinging on the old girl considerably and as she is ridden only once a fortnight or so, she still fires up on one kick. Consumption? Never had an accurate odometer so never did any tests, except "seat of the pants". Haven't put one in the S3 yet, but may do, just haven't ever worried about it.

I was really suspect initially when I heard about them through this guy at work and wondered whether he was justifying his purchase for his own sake.

He continued to rave about the fuel economy and I checked their site. The testimonials are pretty over the top. I felt that if I got half of the benefits that the site purported to get, then I'd be doing pretty well.

By the seat of my pantsometer - I think that the bike performs about the same. The fuel savings surprised me and I really wanted to monitor it for a while longer. I am impressed by the fuel economies so far.

I'll keep you posted.
