I currently have the stock seat, I am fine with it. However, as soon as my wife gets on the bike it feels like I have a 75lb backpack on because she slides forward. She has a hard time and doesn't like the seat, says it's uncomfortable. Anyway, I was thinking about picking up a Sargent http://www.sargentcycle.com/triwssprint.htm and was wondering if anyone has feedback from their pillion for this seat.

I've heard some great things about the Sargent seat, however I confess to having the Corbin seat. On long-day two-ups, it's pretty common for my pillion to fall asleep, the seat is that comfortable.

It's light-years different than the stock seat, which absolutely stinks, IMHO. The Corbin is flat, can be described as "hard" by some (not me), but all that depends on your arse. The flat/hard combo suits my 6'2" 220lb frame fine and gives me lots of room to move laterally on the twisties... It's now to the point where I just leave it on full time...so much for the stock seat and cowl.

Either way, ditch the stock seat. Your prostate will thank you a year or two down the line.

I too have a Corbin on mine. If you go with Corbin, make sure you get the kevlar top and not straight leather. Kevlar will help pillion not to slide around.

The Corbin initially feels ahrd, but after about 500 miles of riding (not necessarily in one day either) it feels very comfortable each time you sit on it. I love mine! :-D

I have a similar question-

My wife really wants a back rest like we had on the old cruiser.
I know Corbin makes one - any other possibilities?
$600 + sort of sucks as I have not yet made my first payment yet.....

YOu know I have the sargent but I've never had a pillion on it.

It is a nice seat for the rider though.

I have the same problem with the miss' on the back of my RS so I investigated. As the driver, I find the stock seat great but the spouse found it way too hard. Since there were many pro and con remarks to aftermarket seats, I took the el-cheapo route just to see for myself if gel made the difference.

So I bought a gel seat pad for the wife at http://www.airrider.com/store/product.php?id=65
and she loves the thing.
The bad news is that my days of solo riding are now quite rare, thanks to this purchase.

Note that while the pad stays rock-solid in place the wife stills has a tendency to slide forward on it. Maybe if I sandpaper her jeans.

Am i glad someone else is mentioning this. Quite frankly, i can't even stand up straight after 2 hours on the bike with my g/f (and yes, she's pretty small).

Would bar risers also help in this case?
