According to my manual I should be able to reset a trip meter by:
Select trip 1 or 2 with the trip meter button (this works)
Hold trip and set buttons for 2+ seconds (does not work)
Am I missing something? It seems odd that both of these buttons work in all other ways that they should but I cannot reset a trip meter.

I think you just hold the trip button for a few seconds.

Yes, that's it.
I read the manual for once and see what happens...

I just bought an 06 Sprint last week and when I went to reset the trip after my first fill up, I had the same problem. If you follow the manual, you'll sit there scratching your head. Thankfully someone on here knew what they were doing!

there were a few errors in the owners manual and that was one of them.I got mine July 05
Surely they're not still giving out handbooks with the errors in them?
