At this stage I'm going through Bathurst, Cowra, West Wyalong and on to Hay (o'night stop) because I've never been this way before and it's about the same distance.

Are any of you Aussie boys familiar with this route?
If so, any hints/worthwhile stops etc would be much appreciated.

Next day cut across the corner of Victoria (quickly yet unobtrusively, so their police won't get the chance to shoot me for anything) through Ouyen and Murray Bridge to Adelaide. That's approx 700kms per day.

I'm looking forward to see how the 18T front sprocket affects fuel consumption and how the Michelins will look after my return with about 6,800 kms on them.

Hey Stevecro
I'm really jealous - what a top run.

If you know it there's a great run (good C roads no cops) from Lithgow to Blayney. Via (the Shell at Old Bowenfels - good for a cuppa and piece of fruit cake after that frist 100plusK from Sydney) via Tarana, O'Connell, The Lagoon, Georges Plains, Newbridge, (join the Mid Western Hwy at) Blayney. It saves going through Bathurst and is a great run.

Cowra, West Wyalong and Hay are all patrolled. Cowra especially so. It's a bit out of your way but, Forbes - Condobolin - Lake Cargelligo is a great fast sweeper run but when I've been out there we were going/coming from Cobar so I don't know what the roads heading back to the MidWestern Hwy are like.

Another REALLY fast run is Wagga Wagga, Lockhart, Jerilderie to either Finley or Deniliquin - very flat (it's a big flood pan) but very very fast. The only thing to watch for (besides wildlife - which should be easily visible due to lack of trees) is the flood causeways on the Lockhart Rd. I went south from here so I don't know the road west from here, but it looks a good run to Swan Hill and then the Mallee Hwy to Ouyen.

Geez, there's lots of choice out this way Stevecro - have a blast!

Let us know which route you do and how it goes.

Russ

G1 Steve. Let us know how you get on. My fuel consumption improved with the 18t Front sprocket, at Aussie speed limits the slightly higher revs must agree with the bike! It got significantly worse however, when I fitted the staintune and loaded the 'track' tune. Watch out for wildlife.
