How difficult are those to install? Whats involved?

Also, after seeing that product, I found some info about it further back on the board that seemed to suggest that you couldn't keep the hard bags with this kit. Any word on that?

That's probably true. The R&G kit pulls the turn signals in a little narrower and a little deeper into the bike, so would have trouble clearing the bags. I put in the ClearAlternatives integrated tail light, which works fine with the R&G kit, so that may solve the problem (can't say for sure as I don't have the Triumph bags).

This is the R&G tail tidy, ClearAlternatives integrated tail light, and a Helmet Guardian with about 1.5" taken out to make the Guardian tuck into the plate.

I do not have to do anything to the turn signals or tail light assembly when I install remove my GIVI/SW-Motech bags/racks.

The R&G kit was very easy to install - just have to come up with a good solution to hide/protect the wires that are currently housed in the mud flap.

alancb,
How do you like that double bubble? Turbulance issues? I'm 6'4" and the stock screen hits me in the chest.
The 1.5" removed from the helmet gaurdian, any big deal there? I am seriously considering one of those.

cheers,
sds

It's from Powerbronze. I like the screen and haven't noticed it causing any turbulence at all in clear air, though it doesn't do anything to prevent turbulence on the 6-lane slab. I'm 5'10" and it moved the airflow from a bit below my collarbone up to about my chin guard, which made it warmer for winter and put an end to some strange currents at higher speeds when running the stock short screen and the Triumph tank bag.

With you at 6'4", it may just move it farther up your chest! Some of the taller riders could probably comment better on that.

It doesn't have a lip and I'm a little intrigued by what those models would do.

Sorry, forgot about the other question.

I used a die grinder to take out the 1.5" from the center of the helmet guardian. Also drilled new license plate bolt holes farther out and then used the die grinder to extend the slots out to those holes. I had thought I would need to reweld the two halves together, but since the cuts meet squarely at the center and are held firmly down against the R&G bracket by the license plate, they can't rotate or slide. So I never got around to the welding and they mounted quite solidly without it. I think if using the stock Triumph mudflap, you'd have to weld it since the license bracket isn't a solid flat piece - it has a small gap in the center.
