I've just ordered a set of Genmar risers for my bike. In a previous post, Scott_Spry did an excellent job explaining how he did his installation. He mentioned that he "removed the front brake line". Did this require bleeding the brakes? If not, how was this done? What was done to remove the brake line.

Thanks.

Lloyd

I saw another post that said that the brake line did not have to be removed on the 05-06. They said it was a bit tight but it worked out to just unbolt the handlebar, put in the riser and bolt it back down.

I would try this first, it will save you a bunch of grief.

I tried but I couldn't get it to work, so I did have to take the brake line loose and reorient it to make it fit. If it had been 1 mm longer everything would have been perfect. But I do like them.

How about grinding the riser down 1-2mm? Will bolts still fit?
