I am new to the board. Got on here to do research on my sprint rs. Where I live triumphs are the oddball amongst bikes and no-one knows anything about them. I upgraded from a yamaha 600r and I will never go back. My roommate has a 2000 model sprint rs in the lucifer orange color. So i hope i never ask any stupid questions but if I do, dont be too rough.

Nice to meet ya
Josh

We're always nice, just a little uncouth (so say some of our Nth American cousins :-) )

Welcome to the list, great choice of bike etc... And there's plenty of real world experience and folk willing to share so don't worry about silly questions.

Tyres, fuel and oil are perennial questions, so the advice is usually to do a search of the board before asking on these...

There's a bunch of sticky topics our venerable leader Mr Don has put up the front that try to cover these off.

Enjoy, the bike, the ride and the group.

russ
p.s. be careful sharing your great ride locations in case they become too popular :-)

Welcome to the forum! One of the reasons I love my Sprint is the exclusivity. I see dozens of CBR/YZF/GSXR/ZX bikes every week, but rarely do I see another Triumph.

I had a 2001 YZF600R prior to buying the ST. Both are great bikes with very similar ergos, but the extra power and luggage capacity of the Sprint makes it a much more capable sport-tourer.

I ride down in your area quite a bit. If you see a silver ST with Givi luggage on the highway...it's probably me!

Hi Josh, welcome to the mod. Yes, the folks from down under can be a little rough around the edges at time but we cut them some slack and shine them on. :-D They are sensitive at times

Actually, I think they are starting to outnumber us Northeners so we have to be cool.

Enjoy, contribute and ask away. Don't know if you'll get the right answer, but we try.

Actually, Stlakid is the brainiac here.

Don

Mini_k,
welcome again buddy, from the "uncouth section" of the forum.

So how are they hangin Mini_k
?
:-D

Just thought I'd say that so Don wouldn't be a liar! :-D :-D :-D

Seriously Mini_k, there are a lot of good people here, sometimes we get the odd burr under the saddle (well I do every now and then)

This is a really friendly and informative site, some of us are slightly sane, I don't include myself of course as I am a total off the wall fruit cake!

Welcome anyway and great to hear you have a nice Triumph Triple

Yeah, relax. If it's a stupid question don't worry, we'll tell you!

Welcome from another downunder rider. We kill crocs while throwing shrimps on the barbie here. Oh, and also while shagging the missus and polishing the bike :-D
