This is from the General Forum for Ronniena.

He needs to identify 3 connectors after having the fairings off - are they spares or do they have a purpose?

the black plug

the black and grey plugs

Good luck Ron.

What year/model? What colors are the wires? The wiring diagram in the factory manual shows the wires and colors.

For a 2003 ST a purple and a black wire run to the accessory plug, pic 1.

I can't tell what colors the other wires are in the 2nd pic.

John,

hopefully Ron is keeping an eye on this and will answer.

It is 03 ST (see heading) and the black plug in the 2nd pic looks to be brown/yellow.He said the grey plug in 2nd pic is red/yellow.

I just had my tank off too, and had the same two plugs loose.

I believe that i read somewhere else on this forum that the fuel injection is for a four cylinder, so there is one extra plug. That may be possible? The other, I don't know. Looked all over under there and could not find their mates. So I just buttoned it all back up and don't worry about it.

If anyone DOES know, please do tell.

Iceman,
I guess I should have read the title for model info??? DUH
Anyway, with the exception of the black and red wires the others have two colors, a primary color and spots of an additional color, black with green, etc.

There is connector with a black and a black and green wire that runs to the fuel level sensor on the tank (I noticed the tank was off in the pictures). The only brown with yellow wire on the legend runs to ignition coil #1. There is a pink with red and a yellow with orange wired connector that goes to the SAI (secondary air injector), however, this is only used on CA models.
Hope this helps.

My 02 ST has three connectors that just live down in that area and go nowhere!
