I am sure this has been posted before, but i will ask it anyways. I am looking to get an exhaust for my 01 Sprint. I have bags so it can not be high exit only mid. On my Honda VFR (v-four) i had a Two Brothers exhaust and it sounded awesome. My cousin had a Yoshimura on the same bike and it sounded like he was in a cave. Since this is a 3 cylinder different pipes will sound different (profound eh)?. I want it to be fairly loud but not abnoxious sounding. Is Two brothers the best way to go without buying something overseas( i live in the states) and paying 500$ for a slip on or is there something better out there??
Ride on!!

triumphstluster,
I am a fan of the Triumph cans, but they may be expensive over there. I have an SS race can on and am extremely happy with it. I previously had the CF can, which some had a problem leaking at the front flange.

I have pics of both in my album, both are of high quality, especially the SS can and produce a very nice note, the carbon one being slightly deeper in tone.

HI triumphstluster

I have put a staintune pipe on my 04 ST I went for the high on due to I dont have any bags on my bike but you can get a low one aswell which will fit under your bags. It has a great sound, it loud when you what it and quite if required. It come with a removeable baffle so you can get it to crack when back off. I got the dealer to download the sports map into as well and you can feel the differce.

Well I this will help you

Take a look at www.trident-exhausts.com - the only company that are exclusively for Triumph and make excellent quality pipes that really perform too...

I had a low titanium C2 two brothers can on my 01 ST. Personally, i hated it, but i like quiet pipes.

It is much lighter than the stocker. The sound was turned in to the typical Japanese bike with pipe whine at high rpms. It was loud and buzzy. I could hear it behind me at a steady 75mph on the freeway droning incessantly.

Idle is a bit louder, too. I didn't like starting my bike in the early morning because even the idle was kinda obnoxious. With the stock muffler, i can hear the engine again.

They use a really tight packing in the muffler. It's basically a straight pipe. I think this is one of the reasons it was so loud.

If you want a loud pipe, get the 2bros., but i like the idea of the baffles mentioned with the Staintune to help customize the sound.

I just got my Two Brothers carbon slip-on installed this morning on my '04 ST and got the mapping tuned...after much trial and error. (Tuneboys are great, but there's a learning curve! )

I love the sound. At idle, it's just as quiet as my stock pipe but the tone is deeper. Around town and on the highway at low revs (3k - 4.5k), I can' t hear it when I'm riding. But once the tach goes above 5k, it sounds great...very deep and throaty without being obnoxious. I'm glad I went with this option since I hate loud pipes.

Staintunes sound great, too. But I caught the TB pipe on sale for less than half the price of a Staintune.

I have the Triumph stainless steel "off road" muffler and tune on my '02 Sprint ST and I love it. It has a nice growl to it, but it doesn't piss my neighbors off (if I keep my lead throttle hand under control) and it's not too loud on the highway. It doesn't have that buzzy sound that a lot of the carbon fiber cans I've heard seem to have. I don't like loud exhausts, but I don't want my bikes to sound like a vacuum cleaner either. If I crank on the throttle the bike just screams when it hits 5000 RPM's on up, and it rumbles and pops just a little bit when you back out of the throttle or down shift under load. This exhaust can be set in the high position if you don't have the hard bags mounts or in the low position if you do have the hard bag mounts like I do. I think the polished stainless looks great and it should really last well too. It's probably heavier than carbon fiber, but unless you're going racing who cares? I think the exhaust is about $350.00 from Triumph and then you'll have to have the engine tune remapped to suit the exhaust. Hope this helps!

I fitted a Kerker performance exhaust to my '01, nice aluminum body, packed 2" straight core, sounds very good, not to much louder than the Triumph off road can. I had to custom fab hanger and mid pipe as Kerker doesnt make pipe specifically for Triumph. I fabed the mid pipe to mount the can, just high enough to clear under the rear hangers, looks pretty good. Price was about 100 bucks cheaper than any other option. The staintune is a great looking pipe, I may make a higher mid pipe this coming winter to mimick that mount.

That never even crossed my mind that an exhaust could change from low mount to high mount.! I was thinking about getting two pipes one high mount for around town when i am not using my bags and low mount when i do. But the universal mount sounds great i might go with that. Thanks for the help guys. Joshua
