Hi All,
I know that lots of you are suffering spongy front bake syndrome. I've read loads of the posts on this issue. I have tried a couple of the "fixes" listed in the posts as well as the surposed "fix" from triumph, which according to my dealer is to push the pistons back into the caliper one side at a time.
This is meant to clear the air which is apparently getting into the master cylinder via the rubber pipe from the resevoir.
While all of the methods have worked for a short period none have actually fixed the fault.
Do owners of japanese bike with Nissin brakes have to do any of this? NO!
None of the things I have read or been told by my otherwise very helpfull dealership is a permantant fix. they just aleviate the symptoms until more air finds its way back into the system. A fix should stop this air getting in again!
Has anyone found out the full cure?
As we shouldn't have to tie back the brake lever, bleed the brakes, push back pistons into calipers or anyother thing which just cures the symptoms for a short while, on a brand new, 8 grand bike.
Other than this issue the bike rocks, just love it.

Have you tried a new master cylinder? Check out http://www.jacklilley.com/view_part....10&part_id=381. This claims to be the fix for this issue. If you try it and it works let us know.

This maywell fix the fault. I have read in other posts it is meant to.
But why should we have to go down the route of buying a new master cycling to cure an inherent problem. Should this not be down to triumph to get to the bottom of and issue a full fix under a recall.

I agree but I don't think they are going to do anything about it. You could also get a new master cylinder here: http://skykingproducts.com/Merchant2..._Code=TR_ST_05

Hope this helps.

Actually it works with the 5/8" master cylinder. And if you complain enough you can get it replaced under warrenty - which I did.
