So my 03 Silver bullet is just under 2 years old and just about to hit the 35,000 mile mark. I thought all was right with the world until yesterday. It's about 38f out as I'm heading off to work at 6am. I make it about 10 miles in and decide to turn my heated grips on. Shortly after that is when it happened.

Another 10 miles and I realize my hand right hand is cold. I realize at this point the heated grip is not working... WHAT NOW!!!.. So I did the only thing I knew how to do... pull over and call AAA.

It's at the dealer now and with only 10 days of warranty left, I'm getting it fixed. Unreliable junk these things. I've never had any of my Italian motorcycles leave me stranded like that.

Lesson learned here, check the heated grips before you leave the house, it can really save you on towing bills. :-D

You had your bike towed because the heated grip wouldn't work?

I was complaining to a friend about mine lately(fuel fitting recall) and he proved to me that all bikes have recalls for all sorts of things including the japanese, italian and german bikes and I', sure all the rest.

My fuel fitting recall also turned out to be a crimped up "O" ring and not the recall which had already been done.

I had a ducati fail me due to "every single reason possible" but I'm still a little enamored with them.

The spring so far has had a few problems and a total engine rebuild on warranty.

Mine is a silver sprint 03 also.

umm... ok... so heated grips fail and you pull over to tow the bike. It's only 20 miles from your house and you could've just turned around and driven it back home...

Up until a week ago, my bike didn't have heated grips and I've driven it in 30F temps before wearing track gloves of all things. My hands were frozen but it's still drivable.

Too bad it's so dang hot here now, the heated grips won't do me any good till next winter ^_^. It sure would be nice if someone came out with Ice Cold Grips for the summer ;-)

Some people here just don't recognize a good joke when they see one.

NO KIDDING!! Jeez people take a deep breath, go dig in your closet for your sense of humor and read it again.

The real humor is comparing Ducati reliability with anything....but I still wish I had one.
