I've read tons on the subject, but specifically looking for 1999-2001 sprint owners that are using the tune boy ( ok the 2002-2004 models would be good info as well)
I'm wondering about personal results, what info may help guide me in spending the amount of money on this product.
I'm already planning to purchase for use on my Rocket III when I upgrade the exhaust on it, and for an extra 100 I can get a unlock for the sprint,
figure this might make for a much better running Sprint now that I have a better exhaust. (staintune)
plus the ability to switch tunes for fun day vs long distance milage day sounds like a winner.

I'll be the first to chime in. GET THE CODE !!
I tuned my 00 RS, and the difference was dramatic, much smoother power delivery, more power in general, smoother idle, and no popping or burbling.
the diagnostic capability more than pays for the price of the kit. I've diagnosed 5 other bikes so far as well as my own. You can see every injector, coil , sensor, and tidbit on the bike while it's running.
You can indeed switch tunes, but once you have it dialed in to your satisfaction, you probably wont ever change it again.
I used a pre-made tune from Wayne, and it was flawless. I just changed the fan turn on temperature.
there are no downsides to the purchase
:yayyy:

yeah I've pretty much convinced myself, with the purchase of a second Triumph, and I hope a third maybe by next year I think I'll get enough use out of it. figured if I ordered it fo rthe rocket an dextra 100 to get a second unlock would be worth it
thanks

I've got one for an 02 ST. It's worth it for the flexibility you have. You can switch to the CF can for a run to the mountains and back to the stock high MPG mode for a long tour. You can reset error codes and see what's happening. Like the man said, once you find a tune that works most guys don't switch. If you are a cerifiec maniac, you can dyno to tune to last bit of HP, but there are enough tunes to just try out that your bound to find one in a very short time that will be the one you like. As far as the Rocket goes, that guy already pulls your arms out of the socket, how much tweakin' do you need? :-D

well for the rocket its not going to be about mad power, enough of that already, The tuneboy will be to allow for new exhaust changes and such, But I do think that the 01 Sprint could benefit greatly from some proper tweaking, not really wanting more power just to make the most of what I have, get the tourque and power curves really fat at the Rpms I use them for street and mountain riding not all out HP.
I've noticed that since I switched back to 19t for my trip that the off idle stumble on accelleration is much more noticable, and that there is a lean spot down low, even with the off road tune and modified FPR. I'm thinking I can tweak the curves to allow for more acceleration and midrange, top end can suffer for all I care I need to slow down anyway, one of the reasons I'm thinking of going to a 18/45 for sprockets. after this trip, most of my milage on the sprint will be local and not so much superslabbing it, use the rocket for that

I know what you mean. That stumble was very noticable when I had the stock can on mine. When I retuned and added the CF it almost went totally away. I just put my 18T back on and there AIN'T NO stumble. Since the weather is going to be great this weekend, I'm going into N.GA, W.NC, and TN check that off idle stumble out :-D

Is there anything to be gained using Tuneboy with a stock exhaust (05 Sprint) in terms of bumping up the power output a bit? I live in a condo complex, and out of consideration for my neighbors, I don't really want to make the bike any louder. I'm tempted to get a Tuneboy just for the diagnostic abilities, since my nearest dealer is 600 miles away, just curious about the power increase part. I don't have any stumbles or obvious fuel mapping issues I need to cure on my 05 Sprint.
PS -- I know the Tuneboy 05-06 version is not available yet, just wondering if any owners of earlier model Sprints have changed tunes with the stock exhaust.
Thanks,
Jack
