The reserve light comes on and stays non. Just started doing it right after I gassed up. The bike starts, no light, then in a minute or so, the light comes on and stays on. I even disconnected the battery for 2-3 hrs, to see if that might reset things, but no lick. Any ideas? Thanks. :???:

I had a similar problem. I rode for 2 days in the pouring rain and it went haywire. The light was staying on and the fuel guage was showing empty even when it was full. It went away after a couple of long rides, so I can only assume it was the external electrical connection to the sender.

I would look at the corrosion issue and clean all the connectors up. I had the light in my clock start acting up and since cleaning it it's been fine.

You're probably going to want to kick me for this response, I know I did when I asked the same question and got this answer...
The solution is Magic Black Tape!
You put the magic black tape on over the reserve light. Fill the tank back up, so you know about how many miles you can get on it, and go by that number, not the light (which is now covered by Magic Black Tape).
After three tankfuls, remove the (now magically depleted) black tape.
Voila! It's fixed! Magic Black Tape is awesome.
... I had this happen to me when I was carrying a passenger through some twisties, and the nearest gas station was 15 miles away. Scared me but /good/, that did. Luckily, I'd already read about the ST's fuel sender issues, and seen this problem mentioned by several people, along with the black tape "solution".
(hullo, I'm new.)

Thank you both. The corrosion issue might make sense, except that it when is start the bike, even if I let the reserve light come on before starting, it goes off (as in when the gas really is low) until it rereads the tank, then goes on (again, as in gas really low). On first refill and first day after issue began. I'll try the b"Black Tape" cure for a couple more days, and see what happens. Again, thanks both, and I'm open to any reasonable suggestions.

I had a similar issue happen last night. I was riding home, and suddenly the check engine light came on. At almost the exact same instant, the fuel gage dropped to empty and the low fuel light came on. I know that the tank is still over half full.
Any ideas?

After checking connectors, especially at the ECU try resetting the system with three heat cycles. If it was only a glitch it will clear as soon as the fan turns on for the third time.

It just went through its third heat cycle since the light came on, and its still on. I also refueled today and nothing has changed. I scheduled a service appt. as the bike is still under warantee, but the soones they can look at it is Apr. 28!
Oh, and my gas mileage for 2006 is averaging 32mpg.

I had the same problem on my 2001 ST. It turned out to be water getting into the major connecter block on the wiring harness, this is a known issue.
The wiring loom was replaced under warranty.
Replacing the wiring loom seemed a unnecessary job I would have cleaned up the connecter block and coated it with water repellent grease.
But if Triumph want to spend there money on a major repair who am I to argue.
