Hey All,

Anyone out there have a good mounting set-up for the Triumph Tank Bag for the 05-06 Sprint ST?

I'm trying to get mine to stay on the front of the tank better, it doesn't seem to want to stay in place. :???:

Any suggestions, other than buying a different bag?

TIA,

Drill a little hole in the top of the windscreen and put a bungee 'tween it and the bag

Funny Guy...., but that would slow me down a little like a small drag shoot.

Seriously, I have the front strap around the head stock but when the bag isn't on the bike the "bra" catches some air and rises off the tank a little. Just wondering if this is normal and the bra will break in or it will always do that.

Do you have the side of the bra tucked into the fairing? If I recall how mine was set, the bra should tuck into the space between the fairings where those rubber "stops" are. Also, the rear of the bra should be anchored down with velcro beneath the seat on the lip where the seat tucks to the tank. This would tighten it some.

After my last "mishap", I took my bag off so I'm going from memory.

Anyone want to buy a new Triumph Tankbag with Apron? No scratches on it. Can't say the same for me.

Mishap????

Ok, now you have me wondering what happened... Are you okay? I hope any injuries were minor and that you are healed if you went down. Did it happen on the Sprint?

I have the rear anchored with the velcro and the tabs mounted to the fairing bolts. The front only has the strap for the headstock, I'll have to check on the "tucking" under the tank.

BlueFalcon,
From your description, I think you have it right. I may have been thinking of the tabs and fairing bolts. I never road without the bag attached so I can't tell you if mine would have ridden up as you described. Sorry I can't be of more help.
As for the "mishap", not to worry, but it did happen (twice) on the Sprint. $$$!!! It had nothing to do with the tank bag. Driver error both times. And I'm recovering, slowly.

I'm wondering why the bag would stop the bra from catching wind and move. Seems the wind would get under the side of the bra with or without the bag.

Let us know how you make out.

Ride safe.

I've had no issue with mine catching wind - bag on or bag off. I do keep that front strap going under the headstock cinched down pretty tight though. With the strap all the way under the frame, it pulls almost straight down on the front of the bra.

The only other issue I had with it is, with the bag on and with the short windscreen, I would get some real turbulence above 80. A taller windscreen (powerbronze airflow in my case) cured that.
