Oh boy ! I have been had big time with this fuel filter. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought the Triumph fuel filter. 56 $ Canadian dollars for a fuel filter.

Of course to aggravate things, today I read on this board about the BMW filter being the same at half the price. I ran to the BMW dealer and yes, they are 31 $. Still 31 $ for a fuel filter. I found a NAPA store and ask them for a NAPA Gold 3032. To my surprise, they say they have them in stock, how much did I ask, 4.95 $.

I bought one, I will cut it open with the Triumph one. I need to see the inside of these filters.

The morale of the story is that before buying a stupid part, I have to read more.

On top of it, tonight I went to the Montreal motorcycle show. A motorcycle shop was taking orders for tires at a very good price and I had to see the new Daytona. My misery of pricing was not over. I asked for the price of the Daytona. In Canadian $ 12,000 in US $ 9,000 $ Of course I told Mr. Ellis, that it did not seems right. 9000 $ US would be about
10,400 $ CAD. The answer was that they have to buy motorcycles in British pound and the difference was coming from the rate of exchange. Well, nothing like being taken for an idiot that does not know how to count. 9000 $ US or 10,400 $ CAD both comes out to the same amount of British pound. Comes even worst on the ST. 10,900 $ in the US and 15,300 in Canada, a rip off of 2,800 $

I like my Triumph but I sure hate to be ripped off. Thank goodness I was able to buy 4 pairs of Conti road attack for the equivalent of 200 $ US a pair. At least I saved my day and now I can afford another fuel filter.

My very good dealer is not convinced that changing the filter as specified in the manual is necessary. He has done a couple, but each time, he was sure the filter had a lot of life left in it.

I have not done it on my 2002 even though I have 26K on her.
