my RS is leaking coolant when i pressure test it.
a very small drip from where the head bolts down.
center of the left side of the head.
i am guessing it needs a head gasket.
Thing is it was crashed, but why would a headgasket blow from a crash. Mabey the shock it took?

Looking at the book, it doesnt look to hard to do. Anyone ever do this?

This kinda thing happens cos humans and materials are fallible (prob. linked) ... unlikely to be a crash result.

With a small leak there's goo you can find to put in your coolant to plug it.

One thing about these is that when down, oil can get into the air box and then into the combustion chamber. If it's started before pulling the spark plugs it can hydro-static lock. Worse has happened like rods and pistons.

Just a thought.
I'd do the gasket thing.

im gonna do a gasket.
i just read an article in a magazine that they have rod failure problems when they hydrolock. I was going to do the rod also when i do the head.
I just off the phone with a triumph mechanic and he told me that it is not nescessary. That because the gasket blew the rod should be fine, because that released the compression so it didnit break the rod or weaken it.

cam cover gasket was 44$ and head gasket was 61$. how do thoes prices sound?
